There’s nothing quite like the bond between a dog and their owner, especially if that dog was rescued.
Jesus Hueche and his dog Tony, who live in Argentina, know this better than anyone. Jesus spotted Tony on the street one day, and decided to welcome the stray dog into the family. Now, Jesus thinks of Tony as his child. And it’s clear that Tony thinks the world of his “dad.”

In the spring of 2017, Jesus was outside his house pruning a tree. He lost his balance and fell six feet to the concrete ground below. Jesus hit his head and lost consciousness.
Luckily, Tony was nearby and saw his owner fall. He rushed over and quickly laid down on top of Jesus’s chest, protecting him until help could come.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they were surprised to see Tony lying on top of Jesus.

Even as they began to fit Jesus with a neck brace, Tony refused to leave his owner’s side. It was obvious that Tony was extremely worried about his loving owner.

As paramedics administered medical care, Jesus regained consciousness and patted Tony a few times to reassure him. Moments later, when the paramedics started loading Jesus into the ambulance, Tony tried to join them.

Of course, Tony couldn’t go to the hospital with his owner; but he didn’t have to wait long before they were reunited. Tony’s injuries were mild, and he was able to return home to his loyal rescue dog just a little while later.

Thank goodness Jesus saved Tony when he was just a stray — now Tony got to return the favor!
