Users online pointed out that Dúi may be a H’mong dog.
The breed originates from Vietnam and is commonly owned by people in the northern part of the country, so it’s not surprising if you’re hearing about the breed for the first time.
According to Asia Life Magazine, they are considered excellent hunting and guard dogs, as well as an incredibly social breed that does well around children and other animals.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Dúi’s owners, Hai Anh and Tuan, said that they were unsure of Dúi’s exact breed, saying that, “he is a mix of a native dog breed and a short-legged dog called Dingo.
“But [we] think he might have a gene mutation too,” they added, revealing that they had bought him in a mountain province.
