Cat cafés, owl cafés and hedgehog cafés are a dime a dozen in Japan. But, there's a unique animal café in Japan that’s that's sure to delight pooch lovers.
In Kyoto, 12 adorable pugs call the Living Room Pug Café home and, by all accounts, all it takes to win their affections is a treat or two.
Roco, Ainosuke, Raita and Maiko are just a few of Living Room’s Very Good Boys, and they’re well looked-after, with necessary health check-ups performed regularly at a local veterinary clinic.
Living Room café is located at Nishikyo-ku, Kawatacho, 151 Selene Katsura 1F and opens daily from 1pm to 6pm, with entry until 5pm.
Reservations aren’t necessary, but there is a $13.50 (¥1200) cover charge, which includes your first drink, one human treat and one dog snack set. Just make sure you don’t mix them up.
On “Special Days” (usually a couple of days per month), a $33 (¥3000) cover charge gets you all-you-can-drink privileges and unlimited puppy time, along with a pug-themed present.

…and if you’re planning on visiting, make sure you get there early and expect a wait – these pugs are celebrities in their own rights, so it can take some time to get in the door.
