1. Don’t be upset when I jump for joy when you come through the door.
I only live for twelve to fourteen years. You are what makes that time enjoyable. It’s hard on me when you go away.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.
I don’t always get it right on the first try, but I promise I’m trying as hard as I can.
3. Give me your trust.
Just like I trust you, I need you to trust me, too.
Move on to the next page for even more important reminders that will serve you well as awesome Corgi owners!

I lost my Lt. Dan to Lymphoma a few years back and I’m just now able to consider getting a new corgi in my life. He was the first dog that was completely mine financially and emotionally. He liked to go on hikes and climb onto the table to be tall. When it was time for Danny to go he fought the drugs until I told him it was okay. Even now I’m getting misty eyed. He was a tough, quirky dog, and what he lacked in size (even by corgi standards) he made up with brains and personality. I miss him every day.

Mine love learning. That applies to lauguages. My neighbors, UPS man, Pest Treatment man, Postman, all work my kids and they understand more languages than I do.

Corgi’s are fairy angels here on earth. When they pass on they take a piece of your soul with them. Hard to explain till you feel the loss of one of these beloved companions. They are one of a kind no two ever alike. My Tucker passed 3 mo’s ago. Still hurts.

We have a Lily too, when my husband came home from the hospital after his first cancer surgery, she got onto the bed and would not leave except to eat and go out. When she was finished she sat at foot of the bed until we picked her up and put her in bed with him. I am so sorry you lost your girl. sending hugs.

Have had two rescue Corgis one was a little girl from a kennel that closed. Have had corgis for over two decades each brings their own flair and love into your house. Local corgi rescues and PetFinders are a great place to start. Wishing you success.

Online is a great place to start, find reputable breeders in your area via word of mouth or local newspapers. Have a great lady in Florida, not sure where you are.

Some made me laugh, some made me cry. I have Corgi number 3 now and all 3 are so different. Number 3 loves to be outside. She’s the first one that will stay out more than 5 minutes alone. Even up to a half an hour. She also loves to sleep on the tile floor. She has 2 beds of her own. Corgi number 2 left this earth at 4 1/2 from cancer of the soft tissue in her face. Corgi number one loved her Mama. She got sick quick at 11 1/2.

Growing up we had a Corgi – we all loved her. She lived to 16 – when my dad would come home she’d know. My father was a customer for a dry cleaning business and they’d come and pick up the clothes. She didn’t like him at all! Then other times someone could to the house and she’d sit next to them. She even ate a liver pate that my mother had out for guests that were coming for dinner.

We had to bring in two dogs within the last 6 months to an ER vet. The first one died and was told she was treatable. The most spoiled loved angel – everybody loved her.
